I created Betty and founded Stitches for Bitches in November of 2002 after my only sister, Stormy, died of breast cancer. As a promise to my sister I had to make a change. I had been a bartender in the Bay Area for well over a decade and realized I didn’t want to wind up like Goldie Hawn in the Banger Sisters! I decided to use my experiences in the punk, metal, biker, and all around rock-n-roll scenes as an inspiration for a line of accessories and clothing for women. I am proud of the fact that I personally hand sew a lot of the items you see. The rest of the items I chose because they fit the SFB look. Check back often– you never know what cool items I'll add next! Betty is my story. I hate the fact that people are judged on their outer appearance!
